The job of the Tax Support Specialist is to assist the Tax Analysts. They will enter quarterly reports and tax rate notices. Furthermore the Tax Support Specialist will handle blank quarterlies, mail and any other projects that may arise. The Tax Support Specialist should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within their job role. They must have the ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision as well as work well with varying levels of internal management staff while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, peers and other team members. This role reports directly to the Tax Support Lead.


Enter all quarterly reports for our clients to keep their records updated

Enter amended quarterly reports

Assist in helping Tax Support Lead enter New Client records as needed

Twice a year (Spring & Fall) send out missing quarterly reports to all clients

Respond to clients that may have questions regarding the missing quarterly reports in a professional way. This may include written or verbal communication.

Forward blank quarterlies to clients, keep updated list on if they were received and what day they were mailed out. This is handled each quarter.

Work with analysts in processing and/or forwarding all state agency correspondence to the client/employer

Sort mail by client and give to Analyst that handles said client. Knowledge of items that do not relate to our department.

Handle all "bulk" mail items which may include Nevada Bond Assessments, Delaware Training Tax, etc.

Index all memos sent out on behalf of the Tax Analysts

November through February will be considered the PEAK Season for all Tax Support Specialists. This timeframe is when most annual tax rates are issued and verified. All Tax Support Specialists will be required to work diligently on entering tax rate notices and verification codes after the Tax Analysts have verified the rate notices.

Keep mailing labels updated for new clients, state agencies and any change in our contacts that may occur

Tax Support Specialist Additional job functions include but are not limited to projects for Tax Analysts, entering revised tax rate notices (if issued by the state), back-up support for team members on vacation/absent, etc... KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ï‚· Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet and ï‚· Ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision ï‚· Ability to define priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects ï‚· Adaptable; able to change focus quickly ï‚· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately ï‚· Excellent written and verbal communication skills ï‚· Professional demeanor with the ability to interact tactfully ï‚· Ability to work well with varying levels of internal management staff ï‚· Ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients, peers, team members, and leadership ï‚· Ability to deal with stressful situations to achieve desired business results ï‚· Strong, detail oriented, organizational, analytical, and time management skills ï‚· Must have the ability to be punctual and maintain excellent attendance MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ï‚· High School Diploma or GED ï‚· 2 Year Associates Degree preferred but not required ï‚· 1 Year working in an Administrative position preferred, but not required
