Job Qualifications

Education/Knowledge

High School Diploma or general equivalent diploma (GED).

Experience

Successfully complete required written and driving tests.

Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.

Communication

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mental/Physical Demands

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand, walk, and use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and to talk or hear. The Associate frequently is required to reach for and lift parts with hands and arms. The Associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The Associate is required to wear all personal protective equipment necessary to work in the welding production area.

The associate may frequently lift and move 10 to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and carry items weighing 60 pounds, regularly separate parts, and occasionally push/pull bins of parts weighing 1200 pounds (empty weight). This weight includes a frame with wheels to set the bin on top and off the floor about 12 inches to minimize bending. Bin locations are in close proximity to the machine to minimize walking and carrying distances.

Associates are required to work with metal objects with sharp edges. This position requires standing and walking on concrete floors and moves at a very fast pace. There may be some exposure to weld sparks and loud noise.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Associates are required to work in a typical manufacturing environment where the temperature is controlled throughout the year, but may occasionally be warm or cool to individual preferences. Associates are required to work an 8-hour day (not including overtime or other factors affecting the production schedule). Associates are required to wear personal protective equipment, which includes, uniform and safety shoes, bump cap, safety glasses, earplugs, sleeves and gloves).

Job Summary Support and maintain daily production activities. Essential Job Responsibilities � Abide by all safety rules/guidelines and company rules for forklift use � Daily Forklift Safety check list � Daily condition, function, and cleanliness check of forklift; Report any problems to Team Leader/Coordinator � Maintain steady production flow of parts, baskets, and/or racks to specified lines � Maintain valid forklift operator license � Work flexible hours, overtime, and/or weekends as needed � Maintain attendance per KLP policy � Work in a team environment Additional Job Responsibilities � Maintain 5S standards of fork lifts and delivery zone � Assistance with other drivers/associates when necessary as directed by the Team Leader/Coordinator � Staging of forklift for following shift � Complete cross-training assignments as needed � Complete TPM assignments/requirements in a timely manner � Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of the Weld Manager or KLP Management � Understanding and commitment towards achieving the company�s business plan
