Pay Rate/Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

  2. Maintains staff by orienting and training employees as well as developing personal growth opportunities.

  3. Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  4. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  5. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  6. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  7. Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

  8. Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

  9. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  10. Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

  11. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

  12. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE AND BACKGROUND: At least 5 years of related experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Forklift experience also preferred. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 5 years of supervisory/management experience is required. Has the authority to direct the employee’s daily work activities. Has authority to undertake or recommend the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Production Manager and has 10+ employees reporting to them PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to bend, stoop, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves standing and walking for long periods of time throughout the day. The ability to lift 24-50 pounds and push/pull up to 18 pounds is required.
