Staffmark Professional Services is seeking an IT ANALYT with SPLUNK enterprise experience for their client in San Ramon.

This position is is responsible for consulting, designing, and deploying cyber security technologies and solutions for the entire enterprise and for business partners. You will use your Splunk experience and cybersecurity knowledge to serve as subject matter expert and project consultant to improve or introduce new cybersecurity capabilities that protect Chevron from external and internal cybersecurity threats. You will work closely with architects, business partners, and other IT and cybersecurity functions to solve difficult, rapidly changing security challenges all the way from the network perimeter and the cloud, up to and including the end-point device. Where new technologies are introduced, the Analyst will work closely with the Security Operations team to successfully transition to operations.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and implements solutions and processes to maintain the reliability, effectiveness and efficiency of Splunk infrastructure components across the enterprise.

  • Works with project managers, team members, architects, business units and other stakeholders to create agile solutions, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, creating new or improved processes and automation to support step changes in operational efficiencies.

  • Leads, provides subject matter expertise, and collaborates extensively with other IT asset SMEs in design, deployment and implementation of Splunk solutions by utilizing next generation security technologies and improving frameworks for controls and policies.

  • Collaborates with global business units to design Splunk security solutions suited to their unique environments.

  • Analyzes Splunk needs and designs solutions that meet business requirements for protection, standardization, efficiency, scalability, supportability and cost-effectiveness. Contributes to lifecycle activities.

  • Transitions developed solutions to operations, including delivery of educational and training programs, and continues to provide Level 3 support. Collaborates with others to communicate change impacts to end users.

  • Follows standard change management processes and practices when introducing technical changes to the environment.

Requirements:
Selection Criteria/Must Haves: • Technical knowledge and experience - The role requires demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with fundamental networking concepts and infrastructure components. Building on this knowledge to employ a breadth of security technologies spanning the following areas: • At least 2+ years of Splunk Enterprise experience – Distributed architecture, data onboarding and CIM compliance, customer onboarding (Roles, LDAP, SSO), server build/configuration, custom dashboard and report creation, index clustering, search head clustering, SSL and server certificate configuration, deployment server/monitoring console • Teamwork - Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships at all levels with operations, design, projects, vendors, peers, etc. Ability to influence and motivate teams, and work with a variety of disciplines, cultures, and environments. Fosters cooperation and collaboration among individuals on the team and on assigned projects. • Leadership - Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize, schedule and manage work activities to meet customer needs and expectations. Problem Solving, and ability to accomplish desired results independently with minimal direction in alignment with team goals and security standards. Demonstrates Chevron Way values and principles through behaviors, actions and decisions. Maintains frequent contact with customers, suppliers, partners and team members. • Communication - Communicates in a clear, concise, understandable manner both orally and in writing. Listens carefully and asks questions to understand the views, concerns, and comments of others. Promotes communications in all directions within work groups and between work groups. Encourages open expression of ideas and opinions. • High School diploma/GED Preferred: • Previous Chevron experience • Bachelors is preferred • Enterprise Security – Basic installation, custom dashboards and searches • User Behavior Analytics – Basic installation, connection to core Splunk • Splunk admin certification
