The Professional Direct-Hire Recruiter markets services to prospective customer companies and develops business relationships with those customer companies for the purpose of filling their search needs. Recruits, screens, interviews, qualifies, and refers job candidates for permanent placement openings based on an understanding of predetermined criteria provided by the customer company.

  1. Strives to achieve two to three placements per month based on defined quota.

  2. Solicits job orders from customers. Confers and consults with management, staff, and operations personnel to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.

  3. Recruits, screens, interviews, qualifies, and refers job candidates for permanent placement openings based on an understanding of predetermined criteria provided by the customer company.

  4. Negotiates rates, payment schedules, and terms and conditions of the agreement with the customer under specific guidelines as established by the company.

  5. Ensures written agreements containing all the agreed upon terms and conditions are prepared, delivered to the customer, and properly executed.

  6. Develops recruitment programs to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings, researches customer company profiles to ensure accurate and realistic job previews, and develops recruitment presentations. May include writing and placing advertising in various media.

  7. Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates, including a database of past placements.

  8. Initiates contact with potentially qualified candidates for specific job openings, conducting telephone and personal interviews, baseline reference checking, and baseline education and skills verification.

  9. Prepares applicants for interviews by providing customer background information, job descriptions, culture and environmental information, and business strategy.

  10. Debriefs with customer company after applicant interview to determine job fit or match, to obtain more "qualifying information" for future applicants, or to schedule additional interviews.

  11. Debriefs with applicants after interviews; discusses good points of the interview and areas of improvement, and provides tips for closing the interview (thank you notes, etc.).

  12. Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.

  13. Files and maintains applicant information for future references.

  14. Directs business opportunities to other Staffmark divisions.

  15. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.


1.Understand and support the Vision and Values of Staffmark. 2.A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 3.1 year or more of Staffmark staffing or placement experience. 4.Extremely organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. 5.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 6.Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and customer service skills. 7.Knowledge of employment law. 8.Strong interviewing, marketing and negotiation skills required.
