This position is responsible for the data correction of information not recognized by the Optical Character Recognition ( OCR ) system in a timely and accurate manner; using two entry modules (pre-verify and post-verify) and a quality assurance module. In pre-verify, the position scrubs claim data that system has determined to be unreadable or incomplete. In the post-verify stage of OCR, the position reconciles claim data which the system has determined to be incompatible. The Quality Assurance module is an in line quality control process which reviews the documents for accuracy.
Corrects edits and resolves system generated notices utilizing two modules. Correcting information that was unreadable to the OCR system in pre-verify & following established guidelines corrects or ignores incompatible data systemically identified in post-verify.
Claims that cannot be processed through OCR based on guidelines are rejected out of the OCR system.
Participate in the quality assurance process by reviewing processed documents for accuracy based on information presented by the OCR system. Experienced OCR Specialists only.
Provide input to unit management on guidelines requiring revision and/or new guidelines that may need to be developed.
Ability to type at least 20 to 25 words per minute.
Attention to detail and good work ethics are required.
Ability to learn and understand pertinent guidelines, procedures and edits in conjunction with OCR modules in order to correct unread information.
High school education or GED. ~One year experience in a business environment. ~One year experience with standard PC software applications. ~One year of successful experience in a clerical support position/role. ~Must pass typing test.
