Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm
INTENT TO HIRE WITHIN 12 WEEKS
The Purchasing Assistant seeks reliable vendors or suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices, negotiates prices and contracts. They also review technical specifications for raw materials and components.
Assist in generating and distributing purchase orders as needed.
Track the status of orders, updating and schedule delivery by the designated arrival date.
Collates purchase orders and purchase requisitions and purchase requisitions in order to order materials and components clarifying unclear materials and recommended alternatives.
Send purchase orders to the supplier (Vendor).
Review inventories and orders as required.
Assists with inventory management.
Interact with the supplier on a day-to-day basis, maintaining a stable vendor relationship.
Verify order item by comparing item received to items ordered; resolve shipment in error with suppliers.
Ensure that any invoice is sent to Accounting department.
Accomplish purchasing and new projects from beginning to end.
Special Position Requirements:
Maintaining the purchasing property.
Liaison with other departments.
Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens ( i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Qualifications: High School Diploma. Organization, customer services, documentation skills. Manufacturing Methods and Procedures. Computer skills, Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Process Pro, etc. Can perform under stress and multitask. Preferences: Bilingual preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred.Supply management experience preferred.
