Overview

General Manager, Food & Beverage Operations, has overall operational, financial, and culinary responsibility for the corporate kitchen function. He/she must be the lead point person of the hospitality function overseeing the daily operations, including all service, guest relations, kitchen operations, and chefs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee successful day-to-day and corporate kitchen operations

  • Design and implement optimal operations policies and procedures

  • Identify operational problem areas, develop innovative solutions, and quickly and effectively implement sustainable changes
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls at all locations, ensuring all employees are performing and excelling in their positions and duties
  • Oversee compliance to ensure high marks along with proper procedures and cleanliness
  • Review, recommend, and standardize prices and budgetary allotments regarding food, beverage, maintenance, and labor costs
  • Oversee all operational staff
  • Research and procure the highest quality food, with a focus on continual improvement on taste and presentation of meals

  • Coordinate, manage, and oversee all events, both corporate and personal

  • Responsible for managing chefs for all menus creation, ensuring Chairman's preferences are being taken in to account when creating meal plans

  • Maintain and oversee strict kosher laws for food/beverage on a daily basis, responsible for handling the strict observance and turnover of all buildings during religious holidays including Passover

  • Create annual budgets for food beverage and facilities

  • Ensure proper staffing, including weekend coverage for religious services, events and weekend projects

  • Responsible for maintaining supplies necessary in culinary function

  • Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of all culinary spaces

  • Ensure staff is in compliance with the Company policy on appearance and image standards

  • Work closely with Design team in purchasing of all small wares, glassware, china, silver, linen and all other necessary items for the culinary function, ensure the proper storage and inventory of all

  • Conduct daily/weekly meetings with staff

  • Ensure quality of product from all areas is in line with the company, especially from the kitchen

  • Oversee the culinary team to ensure understanding of costs, quality, proper purchasing and receiving

  • Handle all complaints, addressing each individually, personally and in a timely manner and escalate when necessary

Requirements:
Prefers Corporate Hospitality experience or hotel/venue and Well known Restaurant. -10+ years of management experience, preferably in a high-volume dining environment, fine fining venue, or hotel -Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel or Business Administration or equivalent education and experience in Food and Beverage management -The ability to manage and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment -Takes an open-minded approach to new ideas and has a strong willingness to try innovative business strategies -Outstanding leadership skills with a proven ability to successfully coach, motivate, and develop a team -Excellent communication skills and an ability to inspire confidence and relate well to people at all levels of the organization -Experience with project management, project build-out, and restaurant openings -Willingness and desire to maintain high visibility and take a hands-on approach within the organization -Advanced financial acumen; strong P&L management skills -Flexibility to perform tasks outside of this job description in order to support the rest of the team -Highly motivated and results driven -Knowledge and passion for food, wine and fine dining service -Competent in MS Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel)
