Learning and Development Manager - Lewisville, TX

The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for providing training and coaching activities for sales forces and employees. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Training and Performance Development.


This position is responsible for providing shared services to the subsidiaries with the following responsibilities (but not limited to):

Internal Sales Scans with the sales force to set up future development plans

Deliver/ Facilitate Live training sessions

Coaching in the field with consultants and management to develop skills

Sales Methodology support in the terms of tools and training

Will participate/support in:

Build Sell In/Sell Out process tools for products and services

Manage “In Focus” Teams to be prevalent with field gaps

Create, maintain and manage internal Sales Curriculum

Assess, initiate, develop and implement program designs for the Internal Sales force Learning Management System

Manage the internal side of learning management system

Work with vendors for management system and needed content

Create needed content to be delivered through the LMS

Pull reports and report on ROI of courses administered through the LMS

Create tracks and “Hubs” for other departments/functions

Own On-boarding HR2S process for Sales (Independent, Retail, Safety, KAM and


Train and develop field trainers on process (R2S Experts)

Measure and assess On-boarding effectiveness

Manage Academy once a quarter

Work cross-channel with other departments (HR, Lab, Safety, Marketing) to find ways to partner, develop and support. Some departments will be:

ECP Education


Customer Service

Professional Affairs




Key Accounts

Strategic Accounts

Own and manage Internal communication

Work with HR to develop and maintain core competencies

Work with Training vendors to deliver the most comprehensive internal training

Cross coordinate with ECP education team to ensure cohesion

Create and implement surveys to access delivered classes needs

External: This position will provide shared services to the external (ECP facing) team by helping with the following (but not limited to):

Provide thought leadership and employee perspective regarding the training needs of ECPs

Deliver/ Facilitate live training sessions

Develop ROI/ROE on training, budget and expenses

Gather/Analyze/Present course feedback at key stages in the training process

Work closely with Senior Director of Training and Performance Development to create/ implement training

Support current programs with follow up coaching and visits

Key Capabilities and Experiences Bachelors Degree. Strong commercial background and understands retail strategies to drive growth. Training delivery background. Organization and planning skills; Ability to prioritize and work independently. Project management skills. Successful sales experience. Human Resource and competencies. Some optical technical expertise. Strong communicator. Strong Presentation, Facilitation and webinar skills. Able to communicate teach basic financial principles and concepts. Well organized. Experience managing inventory in optical dispensary. Enjoys working in a structured, fun environment. Strong personal skills. Bonus Capabilities and Experience: 3+ Years optical work.
