Assist attorneys and other paralegals as part of an attorney/paralegal team responsible for the management of trademark portfolio, including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.
Conduct trademark searches and investigations of trademark use through online databases and other online resources, consult with in-house counsel regarding search results and coordinate communications with clients, as well as in-house and outside counsel, in support of trademark clearance and risk analysis.
File and prosecute trademark and copyright applications, maintain and renew trademark registrations, and assist counsel in developing application filing strategies.
Investigate, prepare documents, and gather evidence in support of trademark disputes, oppositions, cancellations, or other legal actions.
Coordinate with in-house and outside counsel in trademark portfolio and conflict management.
Review packaging, websites, and advertising and promotional materials and advise clients on proper trademark use.
Maintain and manage trademark records, dockets, and deadlines.
Review trademark watch notices for policing and enforcement of trademarks.
Draft trademark licenses and other intellectual property agreements and assist clients in navigating the execution process.
Provide support and due diligence in connection with transactional matters.
Assist in the development of legal presentations and educational/informational materials and conduct legal presentations for clients, as assigned.
Assist in the development of trademark best practices and process improvements.
Paralegal - Direct Hire Basic Qualifications: -Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college/university, Paralegal studies (Associates degree or certification), or equivalent work experience is preferred. -Minimum 4 years of experience as a Paralegal in an in-house or law firm setting. Must have Trademark Paralegal experience. -Detail oriented. -Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. -Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple project and deadlines. -Personal accountability for work and work product; willing and able to follow through on complex issues. -Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a business-oriented service disposition.
