Posting Description:

We have an excellent opportunity in our Sales Department. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, energetic individual with leadership qualities for our Branch. This person will develop new business Air, Ocean, Domestic Trucking, Brokerage, Warehousing/Distribution and 3PL in support of NEU's revenue goals. The position will report to the General Manager of the Atlanta Branch. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Primary Duties:

  • Supervise and manage local sales staff
  • Responsible for hunter sales of new business development – air, ocean, domestic truck, logistics services warehousing/distribution
  • Expected to make between 10-15 direct customer sales calls per week
  • Responsible for managing a customer list of 30-35 target accounts (existing/potential accounts)
  • Responsible for new business development for existing accounts
  • Assigned quarterly and annual revenue targets to include overall territory target and individual account targets
  • Responsible for developing strong client relationships with focus on immediate and long term business opportunities
  • Work closely with CS/Operational staff on business implementation, account management and overall account support
  • Timely report activities and performance measurements to the GM, and perform other assigned general business support functions

Sales Activity Expectations

  • Weekly Sales Expectations – active sales 4 days per week (10-15 calls per week)
  • Established Annual Revenue Target

  • Update Prospect Management Account list on a weekly basis
  • New Business reported and maintained on a monthly basis
  • Attend and report sales activity on a weekly basis via direct meeting or conference call

Required Skills and Experience

  • B.A./B.S. Degree or equivalent or related industry experience
  • Minimum 8 years direct client selling experience
  • Approximately 3-5 years freight forwarding or logistics industry experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Analytical skill (Familiar with logistics concept and planning concept)
  • Strong computer skills – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, AS400
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Customer Service Skills, professional, positive, and motivated demeanor; commitment and appropriate sense of urgency to complete assignments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Able to multitask and effectively handle changing priorities under pressure.
  • Good Written & Verbal Skills; Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and follow-up

Requirements:
B.A./B.S.
