Application Engineer needed for busy and expanding Job Shop.
Work with a small team of Engineers and Metallurgist to develop and improve process tooling, coordinate ancillary processes such as heat treatments and inspections and provide quotations to customers in the Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Oil & Gas and Entertainment industry.
A typical day includes detailed technical communication and cross-functional interactions with quality, the customer, machine operators, sales people and other engineers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, specs and drawings and evaluate results and process.
Understanding of Manufacturing Costing and Quality systems (NADCAP).
Applications or Project Management experience.
Familiarity with Tooling specifications and metallurgical requirements for component manufacturing.
Strong background in mathematics and mechanical assemblies.
Ability to research, understand and implement new technologies for possible cost savings and process improvements.
Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and convey complex issues. Ability to lead technical discussions and work in a collaborative team-based environment.
Experience with SAP or Infor.
Welding knowledge a plus.

Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering or Metallurgy. 5+ years of related work in manufacturing; Applications or Project Management experience.
