Pay Rate/Salary: $16.50 - $17.50
Willingness to ask questions and communicate openly with superiors and peers. Ability to determine when a deviation request may be in order and instigate non-conforming material documents and deviation approvals. Ability to calculate mathematical functions in metric and imperial. Ability to add and subtract fractions and decimals and convert between the two. Ability to read a ruler and utilize calipers.
Ability to solve practical problems and recognize non-conformances. Ability to shift between tasks while maintaining a positive attitude toward customers and staff. Ability to give input on issues in a team atmosphere and support team and management decisions when they are not of your opinion.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
The production area is often cold in the winter and hot in the summer months.
Must be able to lift heavy packages frequently up to 35 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 70 lbs
Standing or walking most of the day. Bending over and kneeling Climbing stairs. Pushing and pulling product. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance and talk or hear.
Starting rate is $16.50/hour
Second shift differential is $1.00
First shift: 6 am – 2:30 pm
Second shift: 2:00 – 10:30 pm
Reinforced toe shoes
No loose clothing, jewelry or hair.
Ability to operate machinery including:
• Extruder -- general knowledge of set-up, operation and preventative maintenance, and ability to become proficient by learning set-up and operation including, speeds, feeds, temperature settings for different types of material, etc.
