Safety Manager - Little Rock, AR

  • Providing technical expertise and assistance on all aspects of the site Environmental, Health & Safety compliance efforts to include Process Hazard Management (PHM), Management of Change (MOC), Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Machine Guarding, Confined Space, Ventilation, and Emergency Response Coordination.

  • Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), New Product Introduction process, and the incoming material approval system.

  • Leading investigation of EHS incidents and driving implementation of corrective actions. Applying scientific and engineering principles to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities.

  • Implementing ergonomic programs to reduce risk of cumulative trauma and other ergonomic injuries on the production floor as well as office areas.

  • Assisting with the coordination and training of the Site Emergency Response Team.

  • Assisting with on-going industrial hygiene chemical and noise assessments and monitoring plans.

  • Participating or leading EHS self-assessments, external and internal audits. Acting as facility representative during regulatory agency inspections, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Division of Occupational Safety and Health-CA (DOSH), fire department, and county agencies.

  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to plant by leading or assisting in safety committee teams and meetings, including providing EHS regulatory interpretations.

  • Assisting with meeting plant Lean Six Sigma projects, including management of Green Belt projects related to EHS.

  • Assisting with development of training content and delivering EHS training to plant employees.

  • Completing internal and external EHS compliance reports and analyzing EHS data and report trends.

  • Communicating effectively in written and oral forms with peers and others at varying levels within the organization. Presenting ideas one on one, in small groups, and to larger audiences. Conveying the meaning and importance of EHS topics to non-EHS personnel and influencing others to take appropriate action based on such information. Actively seeking to continually improve communication and presentation skills.

The person hired for the position of the EHS Manager will be in charge of the coordination and completion of the site's Environmental, Health and Safety objectives. The position will require involvement in all aspects of EHS, including Process Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Safety & Injury Prevention, Incident Investigation and Emergency Preparedness. The position will also play a key role in developing and completing the annual EHS plan and other continual EHS improvement objectives and activities leading to improved EHS methods and processes to impact safety within the facility. This position requires a self-starter with strong team skills and superior interpersonal abilities.
